We will be meeting for a 2-hour marathon - or, more like a sprint - writing contest at 1:00 at Cellar Door Coffee Roasters (2001 SE 11th Street, corner of SE 11th and SE Harrison), and enjoying free pies courtesy of Bluebird Pies (including vegan options), free coffee courtesy of Cellar Door, and connecting with other Portland creatives. Simply register here, show up with our small entry fee and your writing materials (laptop or pen and paper, it’s all good) and race to complete your best finished piece of work in the time given.
The only conditions for the writing are:
Fiction Only
Must be Created During Event – On the Honor System
(and we know how honorable writers are!)
No poetry, graphic novels or similar variations
(we love those works and post them at Roasting Pigeons, but our judges want to compare apples to apples)
Any Theme Goes!
What you could win: 1 person will win the cash prize, be featured on the Roasting Pigeons writing community website, and will receive a pie of their choice.
What everyone wins: All registered participants will have their work added to the Roasting Pigeons community site, and will of course enjoy free pie and socializing during the contest.
